It was a great week in American doubles history as U.S. players made their presence known in doubles finals everywhere.  At the Bank of the West at Stanford University, the world No. 1 team of Liezel Huber and partner Cara Black took home the top prize.  Meanwhile, at the men’s ATP event, three out of the four finalists were from the U.S. with Tripp Phillips & Ashley Fisher over Scott Lipsky & David Martin (who played together at Stanford University).

In other events, Americans Todd Widom & Michael Yan teamed for the Comerica Bank Challenger; the Wake Forest University duo of Cory Parr & Steven Forman (above), won the 2008 Millenium Tennis Club Futures; and the University of North Carolina’s Sanaz Marand paired with recent Georgia Tech grad Kristi Miller for the doubles trophy at the Sugar Creek Tennis Experience.

Sisters Roxanne and Sierra Ellison won two doubles titles in 10 days, picking up the Anaheim Open and the National Open Championships in Lakewood.  They still have a few more junior events left to play before they head to San Diego State University in the fall.
